Product Guide
Planting
- Planting Time: Late summer through fall
- With Rye Seeding Rate: 50 lbs/acre
- Ideal Seed Depth: Broadcast: 0″ | Drilled: 3/4″
Fertility
Fertilizer is not needed unless you plan on using the rye as a feed crop the following spring. If that’s the case, consider applying 25-50 lbs/acre of Nitrogen to increase biomass yield.
Management
Aerial Application can start 2 weeks prior to defoliation and could continue up to harvest. If drilling post-harvest ensure there are three weeks left in the growing season for germination and growth. The rye and winter camelina will survive the winter and grow the following spring. Use Glyphosate before or at the time of planting if you are rotating back to a cash crop.
